About us – Gary

In the mid 90’s Gary went to his bank manager and asked for a loan for a camera. The value of that single digital camera body was be greater than his annual salary running a bar.

He was refused the loan.

Several months later he had convinced the Prince’s Youth Business Trust that digital photography was the future.

They believed in him.

The trust awarded grant and a loan to fund the camera.
He deposited more than a year’s worth of wages into the bank and asked the manager to fund some lenses and a computer.
“I thought you were joking”
was the manager’s reaction. When the manager realised that it was a serious business proposition, he changed his view and agreed to help with the rest of the start-up.

The early days were tough financially, however customers were taken back by the new service and the client list built up rapidly.
